Please post questions about the tool to this form.

It doesn't work at all. There is no bat file either. Did you link the wrong file? there is an exe I run it with the included mesh and it blobs then disappears. I tried a different model and it blobs but stays on screen. I'd say this is a fail.

Changed the documentation; you should run the .exe, there is no .bat anymore.

What disappears? The blob mesh should appear then disappear when the rigging is done.

Can you send me the model  for me to test (shapiro@ict.usc.edu)?

Hi,Thank you for sharing the software. However, I can not load the scan mesh. When I use "load scan mesh "button, the software breaks. How should I solve it? Thank you.

We don't have a linux build, although it would be conceivable to build one since the code we are using is generally cross-platform (qt, C++, etc.).

If someone was interested in a commercial license on linux, I'm sure we could build one as part of the licensing.

Hi Ari,

Thank you very much for making this software available, I am planning to use it for an upcoming project. Can you provide some details on the demographics of the statistical shape models distributed with the software? The paper says the shape model came from the Yang 2014 study which used the CAESAR database but did not specify exactly how many subjects (male/female) were in the training set.

Many thanks!

Hello. This is an interesting piece of software. I am a hobbyist designer and I want to rig a figure that has no arms and legs, it is more a worm than anything human. I picture a skeleton starting with head bone, continuing with the chest, no arms and then continue with one leg in the center of the pelvis, that should model it best.

How can I create or where do I get a model from to use your software with to achieve this, in other words, which kind of model should I replace SmartBodyRig.dae with or where do I get one that works with your software?

You'd have to take the existing .dae file and move the vertices around until it resembles the object that you want to rig.

Great piece of software here.
I am working on a project and would like to use this for generating realistic avatars. However, I would like to know if it is possible to import the character into Unity3D and to have a script controlled animation of the character, including lip movement.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

Best regards.

The autorigger does not manage facial movement, so you would have to add another step in the pipeline to add lip movement. The models should work in Unity3D; they are of a standard format (.dae).
