 Hello,

I am trying to load my scanned avatar in a 3D environment from Unity3D but for some reason when I import the scan it appears without any colour, it is just a white body. How can I solve this? I am doing using the tool for my research and would really like the full coloured scans.

Kind regards,

I'm not sure about the nuances of Unity. Do the textures appear properly when you load the 3D data in, say, MeshLab or Maya?

Hey,

Correct me if I am wrong, but the reason is that the color is saved per vertex in a .ply format. The .ply format is currently not supported by Unity. So you have to convert it to .fbx or other. Here Unity now needs a texture, which is not available. What you can do is to bake the vertex color into a texture. Just follow this tutorial:  if you use Blender.

But use Bake Mode: Vertex Colors and NOT Full Render. Then just save the texture to Unity and drop it on your model. It will generate a material. This works for me.
