I'm developing an environment like a labyrinth with a pawn. I need to send commands to him as "go to school" or "go to cinema" each place have an target associated.
However, i can't use directly this type of commands but generate all BML commands necessary based on pawn location to guide him to his destination. So, to do this i need my character current position, the objective, establish the walkable areas "Pathfinding with Navigation Mesh" and finally the path.
Someone knows if Smartbody with "Pathfinding with Navigation Mesh" use object avoid and retargeting or if with this feature is possible to generate the full path considering obstacle avoidance (to extract directions of path)?

When you use a navigation mesh in SmartBody, you can generate a series of segments that dictate the path that a character will take to navigate a space. If you also have dynamic obstacles in that path, the character will avoid those obstacles as well (the steering has a short, medium and long term plan to stay on a path and avoid obstacles).

 

Have you tried using a navigation mesh?

But to avoid obstacles character needs to be already walking to somewhere. What i need (for static elements as scene) is generate all necessary BML commands of course if one car appears he should react.
Using navigation mesh can i retrieve full path even before character be in movement in order to control all steering transitions on my external module (is a module to generate instructions based in informations of scene each command generated will consider the path and all parsed features)?
No, at the moment i've my pipeline developed. i'm still studing and considering all possibilities and gathering sugestions
