Hello dear developers of this library.

I have an doubt, what is the best method to create an SmartBody cutscene editor?, i tried someting similar with the Ogre Animation System, but is too simple and poor animation quality and was thinking with this library i can do more than this. My objective is create a very good cutscene editor like Unreal Matinee, but just the part of animation (no other things like cameras, post-processing effects, etc).

thanks, and thanks give us a powerful library at no cost, i can't express my emotion when i find this great library.

You can always use these other tools as a guide for making your own. They all follow a similar pattern; a nonlinear editor, various tracks that represents characters, lights, cameras, effects, etc., an a series of actions or triggers that occur at certain times.

The Virtual Human Toolkit  (http://vhtoolkit.ict.usc.edu) is a suite of tools (including SmartBody) created by one of the groups here at USC Institute for Creative Technologies which includes a Machinema editor that could function as a cutscene editor and integrates with SmartBody. You could look at that first.

I would use the BML to describe behaviors that could be achieved (speak, touch, walk, run, point, gesture, etc.)

I would use a non-linear editor model to place these tracks your application, with the ability to slide these tracks around and be triggered at different times.

I would model this on existing previz-type tools; there are a lot of them around.

I am also interested in building a cut-scene editor for SmartBody.  Unfortunately this forum system doesn't allow personal messages so there's no easy way to connect one-on-one with other members.

I would like to network with hydexon.  If you read this thread, please please PM me through my Youtube channel.
