Hi Ari & Andrew,

I use skanect pro to scan an 3d model, when I export a .ply file, it's size more than 25MB with 10000+  faces, and if I export 100*10000 faces, the model file size more than 85MB.  When I use Smartbody sbgui to Automatic Rigging to generate dae file, the model size is 2 or 3 times than ply model. What information in the model can I simplify?

And I found that your example dae model is very small, but looks very clear, how do you generate this model.

I use the skanect pro scan model to generate dae file, and run in android. it display a deformed model.

You rmodel has 726k vertices and 308k triangles. I'm not sure why you are seeing those results in your android app (are you using the latest version from the trunk?) but it might be too big for the mobile phone. I don't think you will need much more than 60k vertices in all; the textures from the Kinect are not very high quality, so you can significantly lower the resolution of the geometry and still get a very similar appearance. Does Skanect have a way to decimate the mesh?

Also, the autorigging seems to have missed some bindings on the left arm; if you know how to do it, I suggest using a rigging tool (maya, blender) to fix some of those issues.

Ari
