All,

We've added a demonstration of the abilities of SmartBody characters to hold, pass and touch objects in a scene called hot-potato.py (thanks to our summer intern, David Huang).
In this demo, a cube is passed from character to character. Controlling the demo and the scripts that can be used for other object-passing simulations can be found in the distribution in data/sbm-common/scripts/hot-potato.py and hot-potato-multi-agent-demo.py. Instructions for using the demo have been updated to the SmartBody manual.

The scripts contain functions to allow characters to hold, carry and present objects to other characters. The underlying functionality already exists in SmartBody. The scripts handle some complexities such as 'how close to stand next to another character before reaching for an object', and 'when to face the character or look at an object being presented'.
