I am using Unity Free in developing a VH project. I followed this link :

But after following this instruction, I cannot open sbgui.

Do you mean that you are unable to launch sbgui?

Can you run it independently on the vhtoolkit?

Same result inside the vhtoolkit folder but may be when run outside the vhtoolkit it will run. 

I am using vhtoolkit and unity as my game engine.

Not sure what is happening here; you'll have to ask the VHToolkit people.

The launcher should load up SmartBody in bonebus mode, which will communicate to Unity the state of the characters. Do you know what the command line is that launches sbgui? That should give some hints as to what is going on.

I just clicked Launched SB Bonebus and sbgui.exe appears as sbgui.exe, make sure you type the  correct command.

I even post this problem in VHtoolkit google group but nobody answers. I badly needed some help as i am developing my thesis. 

That is why i tried to post here since it's Smartbody related topic.

Any chance you can circumvent the problem and get a license for Unity Pro? I think there's a 30 day trial that could be used. 

If it's any help, the bonebus interface by running a SmartBody instance in the sbgui application. A separate application (in this case, the VHToolkit) is launched that then connects to the running SmartBody instance over TCP/IP.

At first, SmartBody indicates the name and type of characters that are currently being simulated. The VHToolkit will get that list, then instantiate the appropriate characters.

Second, SmartBody will start sending state information for those characters (positions and orientations) over TCP/IP (the bonebus interface) which is then received by the VHToolkit, which in turn updates the state of the characters in its interface. So in effect, the VHToolkit is 'mirroring' the information that is running inside of sbgui.  You should then be able to see the characters running in sbgui if you choose View->Character->Bones.   

So it isn't clear to me if 1) the sbgui instance isn't running, or 2) the vhtoolkit isn't connecting the sbgui properly.

Because based on the above link, it says that i have to clicked on Launched BoneBus inside Unity Free and Smartbody will appear to show characters and do animation in unity free. 

 But i think this is under improvement as of this moment. 

I need help on this, as i am finishing my project by next month. 

I am developing an Android Virtual Companion using Voice Exchange. It's been a year already but still i am not yet done or starting my project.
